Another event to be a part of:

The Poncho Parade
(deadline 6/30/2002)

The Poncho Parade performance is a turquoise peaceful movement expressing the unity of many people and artist coming together to create a line of color and tranquility . The Ponchos are made of 4ft. x 4ft. turquoise lightweight neoprene that will have Velcro tabs attached on either ends. When ponchos are worn each individual can link up to the next person and become one long train that will promenade through the Siren Parade, down the Boardwalk and into the art designated areas. Once the Poncho Parade reaches that area there will be an aluminum conduit structure that shapes a maze path. The Poncho Parade participants will then disrobe their ponchos and Velcro them to the maze in order to form solid color walls for the public to pass through. This performance and interactive sculpture is symbolic for peace, hope, our future and the ocean.
