Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Main Stage - 4:00 PM

Hometown: New York City
Record Label: Touch and Go
Fun Fact: "DJ Nicky Z" manned the decks at Ruby's Bar during the 1st Annual Siren Music Festival.

Obligatory Critical Claptrap (OCC): YYY's Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase are New Yorkers. But then again, aren't we all? The difference between us and them, however, is that they make jubilant and minimalist bombastic ditties only comparable to such New York no-wave forbearers as DNA, Blondie and the Heartbreakers. The rest of us watch. And we like it. And then we dance. As front woman of this casually affirmative trio, Karen O might be a more liberated Cyndi Lauper. As addled guitarist, Nick Z might be a more punk Kid Congo Powers (with whom he's been caught strumming). As perc man, Brian C might be a pharmacist, dispensing little neat packages of fits and starts.

Telling Lyric: "You ain't a baby no more, baby. You ain't no bigger than before, baby. I'll rub that cheek right off your lips, So take a swallow as I spit."
