Obligatory Critical Claptrap (OCC): If there's a devil of pop harvesting the souls of past masters when their meters expire, the likes of Lennon/McCartney, Ray Davies, and Brian Wilson will have to make room on their demonic village green for The Shins and the Faustian deals this crafty quartet has surely signed off on. Though their debut long player, Oh, Inverted World, could easily be described as timeless (in that 1966 way), there exists an ingenuity and resourcefulness among its eleven tracks that could have only conspired at such a time as our own.
